Sunset Cruise – solo exhibition

4 to 24 September 2021

My exhibition at L. A. Pai Gallery, Ottawa – September 4-24, 2021 – online espace PAI projects.

Creating components for the exhibition gave me a chance to reach out to two incredible writers and poets who took time away from their own projects to respond to my work … their contributions are so responsive and profound; each created a work of poetry and read their work in a video narrative with my work. Jenny Haysom is working on a novel and Ian Roy‘s new novel The Girl Who Could Fly is now available. I feel showered in gifts. You can see these videos and more content at espacePAIprojects.

A Season for Everything – A Journey Through Time and Space

April – June 2018 • Gardiner Museum Shop

Friday May 25, 5 – 7 pm: Meet and Greet & Artist Talk
A meet and greet with the artist in the Gardiner Museum lobby followed by artist talk from 5:30 pm to 7 pm in the lecture hall

A visual tale in porcelain which playfully engages with the notion of time and space. The works follow eight friends who represent eight phases of the moon and the notion of passing time. The characters travel through the seasons, and along their journey, they encounter di erent representations of the history of philosophical thought on the nature of time and space.

If time and space, as sages say, Are things which cannot be, The sun which does not feel decay No greater is than we.
So why, Love, should we ever pray To live a century?
The butterfly that lives a day Has lived eternity.

T.S. Eliot, “A Lyric”

Thank you to everyone who visited with me at the 25th anniversary of The New Art Festival in the Glebe, Ottawa on June 10-11 to talk about my latest projects, discoveries, and adventures in ceramics.

I was honoured to receive the Best in Show prize.

One of the newer projects I was excited to bring out is this freshly-fired work-in-progress, an amphibious craft used in arctic oil exploration that I’m scaling up from my GICB 2017 biennale exhibition piece Reflection Through Time and Ice – HMS Terror. I’m scaling up components from this work from 1-inch to 1-foot. This project explores motives in the history of exploration.
I was excited to discuss these new and ongoing projects and any works big or small that are currently or soon to be at LA Pai Gallery, the General Fine Craft, Craft Ontario, and the Gardiner Museum Shop.

I am honoured to have been included in the juried exhibition Fireworks 2017. This traveling Fusion: The Ontario Clay and Glass Association exhibition began at Museum London on June 9, 2017 and it continued through into 2019, showing at Rails End Gallery, Haliburton – Thames Art Gallery, Chatham – and the Art Gallery of Burlington.
